With my new goal to accomplish at least one thing off my list of started or planned projects per month, I'm tackling a canvas I purchased last year. I bought it from Pottery Barn after the holidays last year, hoping to use it as a year-round piece of art and not just seasonally (see picture, left). Peace isn't just for the holiday season, right? I feel like peace is for every day. Maybe that makes it a political statement. But my (newly painted!) kitchen and dining room are pale sage with dark red curtains and white and black accessories (see swatches, right). So I'm hoping it will fit in perfectly.
The only hitch is that the canvas, as shown, is meant to be tacked to the wall. What were you thinking, Pottery Barn? I'm not in college anymore, so I refuse to tack things to my wall. Which made this canvas a project. So it's been sitting in my closet for months. With my goal of moving my projects along, I borrowed a staple gun from my parents and ordered stretcher bars from Hobby Lobby (my local Hobby Lobby did not carry long enough stretcher bars). So hopefully, by the end of the week, it will be hanging on my dining room wall and no longer in a closet in my extra bedroom. And that sounds fantastic.
