But I NEED it

As much as I love shopping, I realize that I don't need everything. I've been trying to remind myself that it's better to buy quality, beautiful things that speak to me than to have a disposable wardrobe of cheap things that will wear out and need constant replacement. So, with that in mind, here is a great post from Re-Nest about buying what you need: http://www.re-nest.com/re-nest/how-to/how-to-buy-only-what-you-love-and-need-113956

I've used a couple different eco-friendly dish soaps, and so far the winner is Seventh Generation. We tried the Clorox Green Works dish soap, but all of our must-hand-wash cast-aluminum pans were coming back out of the sink with almost as much olive oil on them as they started with. After switching back to Seventh Generation, I'm happy again. A tip - sometimes you can find it on sale at Target, of all places.

The only green dishwasher detergent I've used so far is Palmolive Eco. A lot of online reviews say it leaves a white residue, but I've had no issue with it. I have a very new dishwasher, so maybe the type or age of the dishwasher plays a role. So far I'm using it because it's both eco-friendly and low cost. I welcome other recommendations!

What day is it?

I haven't worked out yet this week, although I spend one and a half hours shoveling snow yesterday and that ought to count. I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so I'm guessing this won't be a power workout week anyway.

I realized this morning that my coffee maker is in desperate need of a very thorough cleaning. I've always refused to use those chemical coffee maker cleaners, since I'm always afraid of residual chemicals in my machine. I've never tried vinegar, and we seem to be out, so that has gone on my shopping list. I'll run it through with a vinegar and water mix and let you know how that goes.

My house seems to get messy really fast these days. You'd think with my being home, I'd be able to keep it super clean. But no, more time in the house seems to mean more time to create messes. I need to set aside a day to do a full-house deep clean. One of these days...
